Inside of GAGEtrak, you may have seen the fields “Gage Custom” or “Calibration Custom” before, these fields are your customizable fields that you can input data that you may need there. In today’s quick tip, we’ll go over how to change the names of those custom fields, and where they’re located within your gages and calibrations.
To change the name of your custom fields, head to your settings page. Once inside the settings, navigate to the “Custom” tab in blue and select it. You should see within that tab, a lot of custom fields available for you to rename, some of these fields include but are not limited to Gages, Calibrations, Products, Custodians, and Activities. Once a section has been expanded, this is where you can rename that field to match the data you will use there.
Here you will also notice the custom fields are broken down into sections. These sections are the alphanumeric text fields of Custom 1, 2, and 3, the managed lists (drop downs) for Custom 4 and 5, and lastly, the date field for Custom 6. These fields are broken down in such a manner to allow you multiple different forms of customization to your information.
To use the custom fields, head to the page that contains the field you would like to use, and inside that page under the “Information” section is an expandable section titled “Custom Fields”. Expand this section, and you should see the fields show up with the names that you’ve given them within the settings.
