Understanding Grid View in FaciliWorks Essentials

FaciliWorks Essentials uses Grid View as the main way to work with your records throughout the system. Grid View is available across multiple areas of Essentials, including Data Administration, Inventory, Preventive Maintenance (PM), Service Requests, Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Personnel. It displays data in a spreadsheet-style layout, making it easy to quickly view, sort, and manage large amounts of information. When you select a main record from the grid, the full record opens so you can view all associated details.

From Grid View, you can:

  • Filter records to quickly find what you need

  • Create new records directly in the grid

  • Save filters for reuse later

  • Edit records inline without opening separate forms

  • Clone a single record or perform batch cloning

  • Delete records

  • Export data for reporting or analysis

  • Print ad-hoc reports based on the current grid view

  • Use the Column Chooser to control which columns are displayed

Filtering in Grid View is flexible and can be done in multiple ways. You can click the filter icon on a column to see a list of available values and select one or multiple values to filter the results. You can also type directly into searchable columns; as you enter characters, the grid automatically filters the results to match the text you typed. Filters can be applied across multiple columns at the same time, allowing you to narrow results quickly and efficiently.

These options can be combined to help you locate specific records even in very large datasets.
