The Projected PM Needed feature helps you forecast parts usage based on upcoming preventative maintenance, ensuring the right materials are available before PMs are due.
How It Works
-
Parts are assigned directly to PM Tasks
-
Each part includes an estimated quantity per PM (Est. No.)
-
You select a number of days into the future
-
FaciliWorks Essentials calculates the total quantity of parts required to complete all scheduled PMs in that time frame
Setup Steps
-
Go to Inventory → Part Entry and create the part record (if not already created)
-
Navigate to Data Administration → Assets, filter, and select the asset
-
Confirm a PM Task is assigned to the asset (assign one if needed)
-
In Scheduled PM Tasks, open PM Task Parts
-
Assign the part and enter a value in Est. No.
-
Return to Inventory → Part Entry to set the number of future days to view projected usage in the Projected PM Needed field
Why It Matters
-
Prevents PM delays caused by missing parts
-
Improves inventory accuracy and purchasing decisions
-
Aligns maintenance schedules with material availability
Best Practice
Review projected PM needs regularly as part of your PM planning process to stay ahead of demand and reduce reactive inventory shortages.
