If you’ve ever wondered how “My Preventive Maintenance” and “My Corrective Maintenance” panels populate on the Essentials Dashboard — here’s exactly how it works and how to control it.
What Drives “My Preventive Maintenance” & “My Corrective Maintenance”?
These panels are personnel-driven, not department-driven.
They display:
-
PMs assigned to your Personnel ID
-
CMs (Corrective Maintenance) assigned to your Personnel ID
-
Based on the credentials you used to log in
If your Personnel record isn’t tied correctly — or you’re not assigned — nothing shows up.
How to Assign PM Tasks So They Appear on the Dashboard
Option 1: Assign Personnel at the Scheduled PM Task Level (Recommended)
Go to:
Data Administration > Assets > Scheduled PM Tasks
-
Open the Asset
-
Go to the PM Task Personnel tab
-
Assign the appropriate Personnel
When the system generates a PM from that Scheduled Task, it will:
-
Automatically assign that Personnel
-
Reflect the PM in their My Preventive Maintenance dashboard panel
This is the cleanest method because assignment happens upstream.
Option 2: Assign Personnel After a PM is Created
If a PM is already open and needs assignment:
Go to:
PM > Edit PM
-
Open the PM record
-
Navigate to the Personnel tab
-
Assign the appropriate Personnel
-
Save
Once saved:
-
The Dashboard updates
-
The PM appears under that user’s “My Preventive Maintenance”
CM (Corrective Maintenance) follow the same logic:
-
Assign Personnel in the WO
-
It appears in their My Corrective Maintenance panel
Option 3: Assign Using the PM/CM Calendar (Quick Edit Method)
You can also assign directly from the calendar interface.
Go to:
Dashboard > PM/CM Calendar
-
Select the PM or CM Event
-
Click the pencil icon
-
Edit the Personnel ID directly in the grid
-
Save
This method is useful for:
-
Rebalancing workload
-
Quick reassignment due to PTO or shift changes
-
Supervisory scheduling adjustments
Changes made here immediately update the technician’s dashboard panels.
Best Practice for Clean Dashboard Reporting
If you want accurate technician dashboards:
- Assign personnel at the Scheduled PM Task level whenever possible
- Confirm Personnel records match login credentials
- Use consistent assignment workflows
- Periodically review calendar-based adjustments
This prevents:
-
Empty dashboards
-
Misaligned workload visibility
-
Manual assignment rework
