I’m requesting the ability to manually override the Next Due date of a calibration record. This date is automatically calculated when marking the record complete, and cannot be changed by the user. But perhaps a “Allow Override” checkbox could allow a manual entry.
There are times we occasionally wish to create a calibration record with a Next Due date that is different from the date calculated by normal gage schedule. We have two use cases:
- Recalling a gage earlier than normal in order to stagger service dates for duplicate gages.
- Extending the calibration cycle past its normal due date - e.g. by one month, as permitted by our quality system. We create a new calibration record to document the extension.
In both use cases we want the calibration record and the sticker to show the due date that we manually choose. We also like the ability to document in the calibration record the reasons for changing a due date on a one-time basis.
I understand that we can manually override a due date in the Schedules tab of the gage record, but the calibration record and sticker are not affected. Our current workaround is to change the schedule on the gage record, then create a calibration record and print labels, and finally change the gage schedule back again. This is rather cumbersome, and prone to errors.
Thank you!
