Loading a template onto an existing gage

Is there a way to load the test point template onto an existing gage?

great question. i am interested in the answers as well

I just got done with an Audit and we got a finding for no NIST traceability associated to any of our Variable Gages. I had to created Gage Templates and then Link them,

Use the filters in the next window that pops up, select all gages you want in the template.

Click ok once selected, then you need to click the update button on the gage link tab, shown below.

Now the next window is important, you need to only check the test points, if you already have old test point then you need to check the MATCH TEMPLATE and check the delete box. That should get rid of any old test points and replace with the new test point.

You will have to click the update button if you remove any gages or if you add new gages.

I hope this helps a little.

You can link a tool from the template page. I try to cross reference as much stuff as possible, cuz sometime in the future (probably during a full ISO audit) I qam going to need to know what gages are on what template, what procedure is used for each template, and as a bonus, what templates use what procedure.

Screenshot of one of my procedures. I added the linked template, and the table of test points at the top of the page. I intentionally use the word “Example” just in case I have to replace a ref standard, I am not legally obligated to track down every template and procedure which uses it immediately, give’s me an out with an auditor so I have time to get it all straightened out.

Hellos Brian,

Thank you very much, it was really helpful.
