We are in the process of upgrading from version 8.7.4 to 8.8.4 for GAGEtrak Lite. With the update, the security module has new entries in the Form Rights tab as well as the new Function Rights tab. Is there a document that explains what each Form/Function does and what each setting will allow? The Forms list has items that are not available with GAGEtrak Lite and for the functions I want to fully understand what enabled allows to determine if I need to change it to locked for certain groups.
We are also implementing Info Center and was wondering if the Security Module interacted with that program as well.
Welcome to the community! Thank you for your question, unfortunately there isn’t any official documentation on what each form/function does. On the settings for those forms/functions, on the forms side of things you will have No Rights, Read Only, Can Add or Edit, and Full Rights. The differences between the Can Add or Edit and Full Rights is the ability to delete items.
For those Function Rights, enabled just means they have the ability to change said function. For example, the email settings, with that function set to enabled, users in the group selected can go into the email settings and change information such as the application ID. Enabled just allows the group to use the function, while locked disables that function from the group.
The Info Center will have it’s own Security Module that’s built much like the GAGEtrak Security Module.
