Need to rearrange test point order

Is there an easy way to rearrange the order for test points once a gage has been set up. I have 8 test points for a crimper. The titles are Selector Setting 1, Selector Setting 2 etc. However, for some reason the order in the test point is something like 6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5. I would like to rearrange the test points without having to delete them all and start over.

Hi Jeremy! Thanks for joining in. I may have an idea for you.

You might consider the idea of numbering your test points. In this instance, it should be fairly easy to take your eight test points, edit them individually, keep the name the same, but add in a numbered sequence like this:

  1. (keep name of test point 1)

  2. (keep name of test point 2)

GAGEtrak naturally wants to keep these in order by the first digit, so if you have fewer than 10 test points, as you do in this scenario, you will be able to number them as 1, 2, 3, 4, et cetera. If you have anywhere from 10-99 test points, do the same thing, but add in a leading zero prior to your numbered sequence. (Like 01, 02, 03, 04, et cetera.) You can also add in two zeroes if you have certain gages with more than 100 test points! But this should help you keep your test points aligned and in a suitable ordered sequence.

Preface the test name with two zeros and a incremental digit. You mentioned 8 test points, so do this:

001 test item xxx

002 test item yyy

003 test item zzz

etc.

The system will keep the test points in the order you name them. You may find it easiest to do this in the “Edit Test Points” area, so you can see many/all of your test points at once.
